Flue Gas Analysers – The Best Way to Identify Any Emissions Problems

Posted by: Roy Jenkinson, June 3, 2016

If you are an industrial worker who deals with diesel and gas engines, boilers and furnaces or process equipment, then you know the importance of having a reliable equipment to get the most out of the combustion process and increase fuel efficiency in your work environment. Different types of tools to analyse flue gas are available out there, but we can say that the Testo flue gas analysers are your best option to confirm correct set up of combustion engines and systems and find out any emissions problems.

Flue Gas Analysers

One of the best Testo flue gas analysers used among the industry is the Testo 340 4-Gas Industrial Combustion & Flue Gas Analyser which comes with a plug and play sensor technology that allows users to add or change sensors in the field quickly and easily, minimising downtime. The analyser is provided with a standard oxygen sensor, but it allows 1 to 3 extra sensors to be added in order to suit the task in demand. You can choose from NO (low or high concentration) to CO (high or low concentration, SO2 and NO2.

It is known that high gas concentrations can decrease sensor life. The Testo 340 analyser features a 5x dilution system to ensure that when the set-point of concentration is reached, particular amounts of air are added, reducing the concentration of gas applied to the sensor. The analyser then automatically calculates and displays the right values, increasing sensor life in high concentration environments. And to increase accuracy and extend sensor lifetime, the Testo 340 analyser shows the ppm lifetime of the filters, allowing you to know when to change the filter.

Flue gas analysers produced by Testo are built to last and feature a designer that can withstand the hardness of industrial environments. Plus, they are simple to use and allow for simple navigation through the menu systems. With the Testo 340, for example, with the push of a button you have access to all the device settings, and its large backlit display is both easy to read and functional, even in darker environments. Featuring an on-board diagnostic system, it allows you to perform an automated leak check before testing, review the pump flow rate, view the rechargeable battery status, status of water in condensate trap and display sensor calibration date and error status with diagnosis and description.

With a variety of sensor options and probes, Testo analysers are able to measure high temperatures, extreme concentrations and various fuels, giving you a fantastic flexibility.
