Power Inverter: The Go-To Way to Power When Away from Home

Since nowadays none of us can imagine their everyday life without the convenience of their favourite electrical appliances, using power inverters has become a common practice. Why exactly is that so? Well, the answer is simple: because these devices make using our electrical appliances possible even when we are far away from our home wall outlets.

Power inverters are designed to convert the DC (direct current) power produced by a battery or a solar panel into conventional AC (alternating current) power needed for most of today’s electrical appliances. From TVs, laptop computers, and laser printers, to microwaves, lights, and digital clocks, power inverters can supply power to practically any electrical device. All one needs to do is connect the power inverter to a 12V battery (or several batteries wired in parallel) and plug their device into it. Don’t forget that the battery needs to be recharged on a regular basis.

When it comes to choosing a power inverter pure sine wave power inverters are thought to be superior to modified sine wave ones by many experts. Pure sine wave inverters are more durable and reliable than modified sine wave inverters, as their motors are made to run at lower temperatures which creates safer regular running conditions. Furthermore, pure sine wave power inverters reduce the noise produced by microwave ovens, TVs, fax and answering machines, game consoles, and fluorescent lights, as well as prevent crashes in computers and glitches in monitors.

It’s interesting and more importantly necessary to know that some electrical devices require pure sine wave inverters to function properly. For example, the latest LED TVs, audio equipment, CFL light bulbs, and clocks can work solely with pure sine wave inverters, which is why you need to be well informed about your appliances before you actually buy a power inverter for them.

Although modified sine wave power inverters can be used for simple systems and electric appliances such as radios, motors and light bulbs and are more economical and cheaper than their pure sine counterparts, when it comes to purchasing a power inverter pure sine wave ones are still most people’s first choice. Having in mind today’s technological progress and sensitive electronic devices that require pure sine wave power to function correctly, understanding why so many experts recommend these products becomes easy. Plus, their prices seem to be coming down, which means that there isn’t a single good reason not to buy and start using these devices.
