Good organization of space can save you a lot of time, money and effort in your work; knowing where everything is at all times and being able to instantly get it or store it, is what every businessman needs. As a matter of fact, many businesses were designed with the idea of having good shelving accessories that will really make storing their items a piece of cake.
So whether it is a supermarket store, a warehouse or a medical equipment storage area, every space for storing items should have an effective shelving system so that the work flows in a fast and smooth manner. And the right shelving accessories are an essential part of the puzzle to create the shelving system you need. There are various types of shelves available on the market:
Real Tuff Shelves
These shelves are injection moulded and as such mainly sit on a polished stainless steel frame or on one made of zinc and clear lacquer. Mainly removable, they can be of great use for food storage needs, like freezers. A small thing to remember here – in order to provide strength, these shelves are ribbed underneath, so when you decide to clean them, you will have to remove them.
Wire Grid
You can find a lot of great examples of wire grid shelves. Among the most popular ones are those with solid roll formed sides and fully welded steel corners. Thanks to the welded steel details, these shelves are very strong and can endure very heavy weighted products. Plus, they are very easy to clean, which makes them perfect for storing frozen food and medical equipment. However, if you plan to keep a lot of liquids that tend to spill on these shelves, have in mind that it may be hard to maintain them properly. For liquids, it is recommendable that you use moulded plastic shelves.
Dunnage
You should definitely use dunnage shelving only if you want to store very bulky and extremely heavy products and that is why they are also known and heavy-duty storage shelves. Every heavy duty shelve can endure loads of up to 400 kilograms. Mainly made of zinc and clear lacquer or polished stainless steel, these are perfect for restaurants or supermarkets for storing frozen food.
Project Shelving
This is another option for storing very heavy loads – up to 300 kilograms to be exact. These are convenient if the conditions of use tend to be very extreme. They can be described as reinforced versions of standard real tuff or wire shelves with hand welding reinforcing bars. Just like other types, these shelves are also made mainly of zinc or polished stainless steel and as such with all their additional features, are mainly used in large kitchens like those in mining camps, the defence force, large hospitals and food processing factories.
