Sleep plays a vital role on your overall mental and physical health. How you feel throughout the day greatly depends on the quality of sleep you had the previous night and your sleeping habits in general. There are many factors that can affect your sleep but most of the problems often come from the mattress.
As the mattress starts to ware out, it starts to lose its shape and it doesn’t support your body as it used to. So instead of sleeping on a comfortable surface, you end up sleeping on a awkwardly deformed mattress and you wake up even more tired than you were before you went to bed. Back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness, exhaustion and so on, are common symptoms of a bad mattress. The pain itself will cause you even more trouble sleeping and this will turn into a vicious cycle.
But those are not the only problems that come with an old mattress. Because you spend a lot of time in your bed, your mattress will start to collect large amounts of dead skin and body oils which are the favourite food of dust mites. I don’t want to go into details and statistics about dust mites because I don’t want to cause paranoia and stress you out. Anyway, dust mites are invisible and most people don’t have any problems with them. However, for people with asthma or allergies they can cause a series of problems such as difficulty breathing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and so on.
This is why it is important to get a new mattress from time to time. Now, how often you do that depends on many factors, but if you are experiencing any of the problems I mentioned, it is probably about time.
One of the best mattresses you can find on the market today are the ones with pocket springs. Although they sound like some rare pokemons, pocket springs are the latest in mattress technology. Pocket springs mattresses contain separate springs that are encased in fabric pockets under the layers of fillings. The springs move independently and adapt to the exact shape of your body, providing amazing orthopedic support, comfort, and have a luxurious feel to it. Even if you share the bed with a partner, when he or she gets in and out of bed, you won’t feel any disturbance.
Pocket spring mattresses come in various dimensions and also in different levels of tension including soft, medium and firm. Which one you choose depends entirely on your personal preference and you can rest assured that it will go on for a long time without losing its properties.
