Whether you’re looking to replace a set of worn out motorbike tyres or want to upgrade to better ones, as a motorbike owner you need to understand the importance of buying the best possible tyres for your bike in order to experience the best possible riding experience. They enhance the quality of the ride and increase your safety and the safety of everyone on the road.

When shopping for the right motorbike tyres it’s important to know the basics of all available types, including off-road, cruising, sport, track and touring. Moreover, knowing the right size of the tyres your bike needs and becoming familiar with the different numbering systems is also of utmost importance. Knowing all of this will save you a lot of money and time, not to mention that will keep you safer while on the road. Here are in brief the features of all motorcycle tyre types available.

Race Tyres

Allow you to corner tight angles

Accelerate quickly from a standing position

Are durable on the track use

Once you decide which type you want to go with, the next thing to consider is the size. Things to think about are aspect ratio, rim diameter and width. The first number represents the width. The width is the measurement in a straight line, from the outside of one to the outside of the other sidewall. The tyre aspect ratio shows the tyre’s cross section profile in relation to the height. The number given on the tyre represents the percentage of the height to the tyre’s width. And lastly, the rim diameter is the measurement of the rim upon which the tyre sits. It’s usually measured in inches and it can be found by measuring the insides of the rim lip on one side to the inside of the rim lip on the other side of the rim.

And lastly, consider the manufacturer of the tyres – the most popular ones at the moment are Michelin, Pirelli, Dunlop, Avon and Bridgestone, choose a good one.

If you are someone who enjoys fishing then you know that you can’t go anywhere without a pair of fishing sunglasses. They protect your eyes from the sun’s rays, they help you see more clearly when you’re out on the water, and they protect your eyes from the wind and any pollen floating around. Given the fact that they are as important as reels, rods and hooks, you should get a quality pair so you do not miss out on seeing what’s happening below and above the water.

To ensure you can spot rocks, reefs and any other structure under water, and most importantly, sub-surface fish movement, buy polarised fishing sunglasses. Polarised lenses filter the light and block reflection allowing you to see without sun distractions. Moreover, polarised sunglasses reduce eye strain and improve your overall vision which is the key to a good catch and successful day out on the water.

Now that you know which pair of fishing sunglasses you need to get, here are few tips and tricks you should learn to better protect them and make them last a lot longer.

Be Careful Whilst Cleaning Them

Don’t use just any old rag you have laying around, you should only use a microfibre cloth when you want to clean them. Anything else can scratch the lenses. You should also use the cloth in addition with a lens cleaning solution. If you can’t find a decent cleaning solution, you can always use warm water and a gentle liquid soap. Don’t rub it on with your fingers and run them under warm water first to get rid of any excess dust or dirt build up.

Keep Them in a Case

When you are not using them, make sure you put them in a case. A hard case is best for protecting your fishing sunglasses. Don’t get lazy and put them down wherever, this is how accidents happen and you could easily lose them. Make it a habit that when they are not on your face, you automatically put them in the case without thinking about it.

Maintenance Is the Key

Make sure you check them out for loose screws and tighten them regularly. You can also take them to a professional every once in a while to keep them looking brand new. They can check the screws, make sure the lenses are not coming lose, and even polish them up for you. This is a great way to make sure your sunglasses look and feel brand new for a long time.

Taking Them off Matters

They way you put your sunglasses on and take them off does matter. Always use both your hands as by using one you can accidentally stretch them over time from the strain. You should always use two hands to carefully put them on and take them off. Make sure that you do not put them near your mouth or rest them on your skin too much, the acid and oils from our body can also damage them over time.

Keep Them Cool

If your sunglasses are in their case, make sure you don’t keep them in direct sunlight. If your sunglasses are made from plastic, they can easily get warped after a long time in direct heat. This can warp them, bend them, or even make the lenses loose. Do not leave them in your car – the inside of a car can become extremely hot in summer so make sure to keep them in a cool spot.

Fishing sunglasses can be quite pricey so you want to get the most use out of them as you can. They are a great accessory to bring with you on days you want to go fishing. Not only do they protect our eyes from all sorts of damaging elements, they are also a fashion statement that will make you look good. By taking proper care of your fishing sunglasses, they will be sure to last you a very long time.

So, you have been fishing for some time now and since you are reading this post, I can only assume you want to improve your fishing skills and pull out the big guns. You already have the much needed experience in casting (and we all know you are not going places in this sport without proper equipment), but just like all other things, fishing skills can be also improved and be perfected. This post is dedicated to surf fishers and to all those who want to get the best out of their fishing trips. For that purpose, I will share with you a few tips related to surf fishing gear that will help you level up in your fishing technique.

Harden up Baits

The problem of soft baits being completely stripped to the bone by small picking fish like tailor, mulloway or salmon, can be fixed by a few alterations in your surf fishing gear, starting with adding salted baits. Use salted pilchards – you can salt them yourself or buy them as pre-salted in stores that sell fish baits. If you decide to salt them yourself, you will need to place the baits in a lot of salt and leave them until their moisture is soaked up. Another way is to use ghost cottons – white, soft and thin cottons that you can find at your local tackle store. Their purpose is to keep the bait tighter on the hook, so make sure to wrap them around the bait a few times.

Changing Spots Is a Must

If you want to fill that basket and you ain’t doing it on your old spot, maybe the problem isn’t you nor your surf fishing gear ; maybe it’s the spot. So change it. Go on another beach, somewhere where you never casted before and where is kind of lonely, with no bunch of other anglers to disturb the waters. Choose calmer waters by visiting the beach a few hours earlier, for instance if you wanna be fishing at night, explore your spot during the middle of the day.

Get Polaroid Glasses

Polaroid glasses will help you explore the beach better for any potential holes along it. They are also great for fishing with them, since they offer a much clearer vision. This is reserved if you’re really dedicated to the whole experience of fishing, but if not, they are not a necessity.

Braid and Mono Line Differences

It is important to know some of the most important differences between these two terms. Braided lines have little stretch and this can make it difficult to set a sinker if you are fishing in waters with big or even small waves. With mono lines this is solved on the count of bite sensitivity and casting distance. Braided lines have also a very low tolerance to abrasion, which means that if you are fighting a fish and it takes you to the reef or rocks, braid is more likely to give way quicker than mono line.

You can try these few things next time you go surf fishing and see how it goes. If you do not feel comfortable enough with any of it, do more research on the topic. And if you are an angler who has their own ways while on the shoreline, be dear and share some pearls of knowledge for those who need it.
